25 Apr My favorite things . . . Part 2

Last week I shared with you 5 fantastic furniture finds from the High Point Furniture Market I attended a few weeks ago.  Today I want to share with you 5 more great furniture pieces I ran across.  I can’t wait to use them is some upcoming projects.

The Hollywood Wing Chair.  This fantastic wing chair caught my eye the minute I walked into the room.  Evoking a 1940’s glamorous Hollywood feel, it is both sexy and powerful at the same time.  The deep channels in the back, the large nail heads down the arms and the curve of the front cushion all bring incredible boldness and style to this wonderful chair.

The Tree Bed by Century.  This new bed from Century Furniture is part of an ever growing design style; I like to call rustic-glam.  The posts, each made to look like tree branches, are actually made of metal and are extremely heavy.  They are hand finished in silver or gold or bronze leafing.  (You can see some of the sample post colors lying on the bed.)  The bed is incredibly elegant and at the same time casual, hence rustic-glam.

Mid-Century Lounge Chair.  You think you’ve seen just about every interpretation of a lounge chair, and then you are blown away by something so beautiful  That’s the way I felt when I saw this chair.  It’s so clean and simple, yet so very chic and elegant.  With a nod to the Deco period, it is at the same time totally contemporary.  A great chair I can’t wait to use in a future project.

The Outdoor Sconces Fine Art.  These fantastic outdoor (yes, outdoor!) sconces are not only made by hand, they also com in several other colors of glass.  They are super efficient as well, using LED bulb technology.  Being a blue fanatic, I just couldn’t resist.

The Bubble Bar.  Just imagine Don Draper stepping over to this bar to make a scotch on the rocks!   With a clean modern base and hand carved doors offered in several finishes including old or white, this stunner would add charm and sophistication to any “Mad” cocktail hour.
